Google Search Console Will Now Have a New Feature called Association

The search engine giant has introduced a new attribute called “associations” to increase a more comprehensive view of your campaign data across its services.

new google search console associations

Google has announced the introduction of a new feature dubbed “associations” on the Search Console. Marketers now can link their Search Console accounts to other services offered by the search engine brand, such as Google Play, Google Ads analytics, and YouTube.

You can easily access the “associations” feature by clicking here now.

What is Search Console’s association attribute?

Google gave an in-depth description of the new feature by claiming that “its connection between a Search Console property, and some other entity or property in another Google service: for example, between a Search Console property and a Google Analytics property, a YouTube channel, or a Chrome Web Store account.”

What can Google accounts be connected using the newest feature in town?

Google claims you can connect the following accounts to increase a more expansive view of your data.

  1. Chrome store account
  2. Actions console
  3. Google Play Console
  4. YouTube platform
  5. Google Advertisements accounts
  6. Google analytics

Back in 2019, property sets took over from domain properties in Google Search Console. Domain properties is a sneaky way the brand introduced to verify the domain and digital marketers to access data, such as  HTTPS vs. HTTP and non-www vs. www in a central location.

Check the image below to have a clear picture of what the “association” feature looks like in a typical search console.

What’s the Association flow?

The search engine firm later announced, “All association requests except for Google Analytics must be performed in the product that requests association with your site.”

Virtually, the owner of a particular Google service should request the association with your website. The request is facilitated by the product user interface of their respective Google service.

Then, the console communicates a request notification to all the relevant owners of the corresponding search console.

According to Google, the setting tab is designed to display both pending and active associations within your websites. Pending requests are dormant requests awaiting manual approval by the owner of the Console Search property.

On the other hand, active offers are association appeals that have received permission from either another console search owner or you.

Lastly, the Search Console property user has an option to either deny or approve via the settings tab. If the user and the requester are one person or share an account, the association request is executed automatically.

How is the association feature relevant to digital marketers?

Google will avail a significant amount of data in search console and other services unlocking your online business’s full potential.

You can access your ad account’s organic performance from a broader perspective, assisted with lots of information from other services.

The search engine brand announced it’s releasing the new feature to improve advertisers’ and internet users’ overall user experience. The move, as mentioned earlier, is geared towards centralizing Google services to make digital marketers’ lives easier and “automation-worthy.”
